International Women's Day Breakfast
Posted 5th Jan 2018
We are excited to announce that Andrea Mason will be speaking at our IWD breakfast event. Andrea is CEO of the NPY Women’s Council – an organisation committed to delivering youth and wellbeing programmes and addressing domestic and family violence. She is Co-Chair of the Prime Minister’s Indigenous Advisory Council and a former Northern Territory Australian of the Year, Australian Telstra Businesswoman of the Year and Centralian Citizen of the Year.
We can’t wait to hear her speak about ‘Change in motion: women leading together … in 2017 through the #MeToo and #TimesUpcampaign, stories and testimonies of sexual violence and equal pay for equal work seemed to be everywhere, and social media played a huge role in sustaining the messages. As a result of this profile, are we standing on a platform to make the changes that will give the next generation of Australian women a better life, a life free of inequalities, exploitation ad discrimination?’
The event will be a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in Central Australia, network with new and interesting people, and enjoy a thought-provoking presentation alongside a delicious full buffet breakfast (vegans and vegetarians catered for) – all while supporting a great cause.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day that celebrates the economic, political and social achievements of women, and reflects on how far women have come in their struggle for equality, peace and development. IWD also provides an opportunity to unite, network and mobilise funds to foster meaningful change into the future.
Tickets are $50, and include a full buffet breakfast. All funds raised go to NPWHF. This event sold out last year, so don’t wait until the last minute to buy your tickets!
