International Women's Day Concert - Stories from the Heart
Posted 7th Feb 2019
The National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame located in the Old Gaol, in conjunction with sponsor Bendigo Bank are proud to announce our first onsite event of 2019.
International Women’s Day Concert – Stories from the Heart.
A community event showcasing local female talents, this concert is full of strength, wonder and stories. And of course, amazing music and spoken word performances.
Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy an evening of entertainment by local talents Xavia, Bec Matthews, Jessie K, Leni Shilton and Nyapal Lul. Each woman has a unique style ranging from instrumental, to pop to poetry.
As a form of creative, courageous and passionate expression, performance can inspire and engage audiences in a way that conversation cannot. This concert is an opportunity, on a day dedicated to women, to show how performance has helped women find and share their voice.
To encourage art as a form of expression, performers may choose to weave the International Women’s Day theme into their performance. Come down and see how this looks on the night!
It’s a family friendly, enclosed space with play area for little people, and food and coffee trucks for your taste-buds! This is a FREE event under the stars and on the grass of the Old Gaol.
