Objects

The National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame’s Collection holds over 2000 objects relating to women’s history in Australia. All types of material are represented in the collection: glass, porcelain, silver, gold, brass, textiles, costumes, documents, oral history tapes, photographs, furniture, art works, buildings etc. This database has been created to facilitate use of the Collection by students (primary, secondary & tertiary), teachers, researches and the community. It is designed to allow for simple access to the Collection.


  • Woollen Balaclava, Helmet

    Woollen hand knitted blue wool Balaclava (Helmet).  Main head part ribbed with garter stitch nek and chest area.  Eye face opening.  Pattern used: Weekly Times Victoria, 13 October 1917.
